Working with the Command Bar¶
The command bar is ChannelX's keyboard-driven control centre. It lets you jump to any page or run an action in just a few keystrokes, no hunting through menus. Open it from anywhere in the dashboard with Cmd+K on macOS or Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux.
Once it's open, start typing. Choose a page to navigate to, or pick an action to run. The command bar is context-aware: it suggests actions based on where you are. Open it while viewing a conversation and it surfaces conversation actions like snooze and resolve first.
Jumping to a page¶
Use the command bar to navigate straight to a page, start typing its name and press Enter. Destinations include:
- Dashboard Home
- Contacts
- Reports — Agent, Label, Inbox, and Team reports
- Settings — Agent, Team, Label, Canned Response, Application, Account, and Profile settings
- Notifications
Acting on a conversation¶
When you have a conversation open, the command bar recommends actions relevant to it. You can run any of these by searching for them:
- Resolve or reopen the conversation
- Mute or unmute it
- Send an email transcript
- Assign it to an agent
- Assign it to a team
- Add a label
- Snooze it
Example: assigning an agent¶
- Open the command bar.
- Search for Assign agent and press Enter.
- Pick the agent you want to assign the conversation to.
Tip
Because the command bar adapts to your location, the fastest workflow is to open the conversation first, then summon the bar, the action you want is usually already near the top of the list.
