Using campaigns¶
Campaigns let you send outbound messages to customers instead of waiting for them to reach you first. ChannelX offers two types, and each suits a different goal.
Ongoing campaigns run inside the website live-chat widget. They fire automatically when a visitor meets a condition you set, such as spending a certain number of seconds on a particular page. Triggering a message at the right moment makes a conversion more likely and keeps prospects engaged.
One-off campaigns send a single SMS to a group of contacts. They are a fast way to make an announcement or promote a product or offer to many people at the same time.
Creating an ongoing campaign¶
- Open the Campaigns tab in the sidebar, switch to Ongoing, and click Create an ongoing campaign.
- Fill in the campaign details in the form that appears.
- Save the campaign, then test it by visiting the target URL and waiting for the configured time.
The fields you'll fill in:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Title | An internal name for your own reference. |
| Message | The exact text the visitor sees when the campaign triggers. |
| Inbox | The website inbox the campaign runs on. |
| Sent by | Whether the message is delivered as a bot or as an agent. |
| URL | The page where the campaign should fire. Wildcard patterns are supported — see Wildcard URL support. |
| Time on page (seconds) | How long a visitor must stay on the URL before the message triggers. |
| Enable campaign | Turns the campaign on or off. |
Creating a one-off campaign¶
- Open the Campaigns tab, switch to One off, and click Create a one off campaign.
- Complete the form and click Create. The campaign then appears on your one-off campaigns list.
The fields you'll fill in:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Title | An internal name for your own reference. |
| Message | The SMS text sent to your contacts. |
| Inbox | The SMS inbox the campaign sends from. |
| Audience | The contacts to target, grouped by a label. |
| Scheduled time | When the campaign should run. |
Editing or deleting campaigns¶
Open Campaigns, choose the campaign type to list them, then scroll the list sideways to reach the edit and delete controls for each campaign.
Why labels matter for SMS
One-off campaigns target an audience by label, so the cleaner your labelling, the more precise your reach. Apply labels to contacts ahead of time so a campaign hits exactly the group you intend.
